Mine Eyes/ My Tears

Mine Eyes

Flickering lights
First color and white with shifting colors
Then a quick flash of darkness
But then everything returns
Gliding on ice

My Tears

Minds are released
Salt pierces the wound
Fears become courage
The children gather like there is candy to be served to them
Yet only one at a time may receive the reward for journeying this far
Someone needs to count them as they leave
Each child exits
Running through the track to their destiny
Right before they disappear into the sun a man watches them
He reads children to find their behavior
There is always a reason why they were so quick to leave with their candy
Nonetheless he tallies each kid
Then in the forever night he will give every child back
Hugging every mark

Thank You

Raise a head
Look to the mirror
Bare naked
Oh the self worth is very dismal
It's never fair
Isn't ever
Small like a shell from a tiny snail
As useful as clothing for dead animals
Or pointless stacks of paper that would've saved a tree instead of an intention to save a soul
Don't forget the few words written or the feeling of the broken heart
In the end
the lungs still rise and fall
Maybe even bigger than before
In fact so much bigger that the heart painfully rests on the bones of the rib cage
Out & Vulnerable

The Land of Dance

Spinning & spinning
The room turns but you remain still
Your body pulled close to the man you love
He leads you as he sings of love
Your eyes cannot leave his gaze
Your ears listen to every word he says
I love you
The spinning world never stops
He turns and pulls you around but forever holds to you
There is a tug at you waist to come closer
His lips finally interlocking with yours forcing your eyes shut
Turning in circles
At no time dizzy
You only wish to stay in this spinning world
There is clearly nothing better than this

THAT'S RIGHT

Dirty wax candles drip into a jar full of rocks
Pearl rocks spattered with dark wax streaks
A child eats candy
colorful sugar balls stain his tongue
Pretty woman putting too much lipstick on just to leave a mark on his skin
Streaks Stains Marks
The black door is open with an invitation to enter
There's a lowly monster with grey streaked hair
A tongue stained purple
And bright red marks from the sun's kiss on its skin
To bad pretty views

Hollow Hearts & Weeds

A hedge maze in the darkness of night
This makes it harder to find one's way
Retracing steps
You feel you have returned to the stop you were at two hours ago
In resting a dandelion grows in the hedge that stands in your way
Defeat is dangerous
There is nothing in this maze
Hollow pathways crossed over a thousand times
Like the maze your heart becomes hollow
Empty space
Seeming so simple
Let the hedges take your body
Become one with the ground
Lay with the dandelion
You finally found the way out

Why

Blank eyes
Blank face
Blank mind
The heart yearns but no satisfaction
The body cries but no comfort
The soul ripped in pieces but no stitches
The aching wounds of the soul kill all other emotions
Now the heart and body are torn in half
but there's no glue
Stares close and the soul talks
All that is voiced in the silence is why
why why why

Living Words

Diary filled with words pictures and letters
So many pages keeping the life of men
Words are made of feelings and experiences
Those simple sentences provide breath to the dead
Bring the dead back to life
Let them break the earth and become zombies
Old dirty decayed human beings
Those words bring people back to the earth
Giving painful birth to new ideas
Their souls walk within the brains of those who read
Words trap the soul
Forever entangled with fragile paper
Souls do not have a human owner
They belong to the pictures letters and words
The worth of words
